To the brutal and chaotic, too fast to be by human creation, drum patterns and the inhuman growls of something unbelievable, after a quick movie sample (I love that kind of thing) Mankind Recall looms over your head with its first offering. Graphic, no nonsense loud Death Metal. As track two, Abstracted, arrives, your memory of the good ol’ days of pounding cranium smashing music returns and warms your blood. The guitars and bass are almost as fast as the drums.
To those outsiders of the genre, this is just direction-less noise, but to those who are hooked by the chains of nastiness, every pulse pounding chug has been carefully crafted with love. Posthuman Abomination are an Italian mob of cut-throat beasts who wipe their second album into the faces of those who dare approach. The title song and its follower, Zeroth, showcase the vocal depth of Lorenzo Orrù to the extreme.
Mnesic is pure bang your head music but with some great stop start moments. The chords by Max Santarell compliment the monster coming from your speakers. Throughout the album, yes, there are movie snippets, and they are wonderful. So very Frightmare, Mortician and such, swelling up the atmosphere.
This is for fans of the extreme, brutal stuff that circulated the record stores back in the day. Many groups try to bring that feel back, yet Posthuman Abomination has succeeded. Each member have a huge CV of other projects ongoing and prior, they bounce off one another and gel perfectly. They aren’t the greatest, nor the worst, but they are unforgettable.
