Human is a banger of an album! There you go, the end. Buy it! But seriously, it oozes from all the right places and if you’ve never listened to RESOLVE before then you should probably start with this new album as they have refined and worked on their craft over a few years and have perfected a nice balance. The 4-piece band have taken their time to craft and produce 11 tracks for your face-melting pleasures, and you won’t be disappointed in the slightest. It carves a balance of riffs, beatdowns and melodies that pepper the album in all the right places, to allow a palatable variety of songs that you will be hard-pressed not to have enjoyed.
The variety is one aspect I really enjoyed – by the time you get to track 3 you are already at an industrial style that mixes something like a pop anthem in the Sleep Token style of things but like that of bands like Volumes who know how to mix their metal with Pop based riffs and melodies. I don’t use that analogy as a slight on their songs, as I really like the melodic style, they’ve incorporated into some of their songs. Metal at its core but each song, like a different flavour of cupcake, keeps you entertained and not knowing what’s coming next. That’s a great feeling to have as a listener, and must tip my hat to the band for creating something that is audibly engaging.
There is always the expectation to write a lot when it comes to a review, but I feel that if I cover the basics, then the listener will discover more if they engage with the album off the back of my ramblings. I don’t really want to add any more to this as you’ll find what I’ve said so far pretty much encapsulates what is available in the album HUMAN and you will be hard-pressed to find another album by a similar band as engaging over the number of tracks they’ve included in this album – so get it listened to and enjoy some rollercoaster style up and downs with riffs and melody to soothe the soul and feed more to the onion-face of approval.
