Review By: Jordan Burton-Morris

So, the sophomore album of this hard-rocking band, fronted by Tim Owens, famous for his work with Judas Priest, Harry “The Tyrant” Conklin and Sean “The Hell Destroyer” Peck. The album contains twelve tracks of pure metal. Hints of Mick Mars can be heard at times, as well as Priest-like riffs.

Title track ‘Guardians Of The Void‘ is in fact the shortest on the album, but that doesn’t stop it rocking. A thunderous bassline and a fast drum beat, containing improvised fills, keeps this track thundering ahead, whilst the triple vocal attack of Owens, Conklin and Peck deliver a unified, yet individually powerful perfomance.

I Can’t Be Stopped‘ is one of my favourites here. The vocal harmonies, the pounding drums, the catchy melody infused in each of the riffs. It has it all, including an amazing solo, demonstrating skill and speed.

Track 7, ‘Operation Neptune’s Spear‘ features a news commentary as the intro before descending into what might be the fastest track on this album. The 5 minutes here feel like 2. Amazing pace is kept on the drums, too.

Chained To The Oar’ was my least favourite moment on ‘Guardians Of The Void’. On such an outstanding album, this feels average at best, but that only shows how good the rest of it is!

Overall, this album is an amazing sophomore by the group. An essential listen for all metalheads! Can sound a little repetitive at times, but there’s rarely any filler here.
