Hypocrisy is the hard-hitting new album from ultra-fast rising EU rockers MISSCORE, who are just about to set the world on fire with their own brand of very catchy new metal tunes.
Hailing from Lubrza in Poland, MISSCORE can trace their roots back almost a decade, but it wasn’t until 2023 that the band cemented their current line-up.
MISSCORE is Natalia Rygiel (vocals), Mateusz Dzwigala (bass, keyboards), Krystian Suchorab (guitars) and Jarek Bielecki (drums).
Tell granny to cover her ears because as soon as the very interesting, attention-grabbing couple of opening bars are over and the song F kicks in for real you simply won’t be able to resist screaming along with the chorus, so just give in and “F**k this feeling!”
Title track Hypocrisy has modern metal written all over it with its cross-genre appeal, catchy chorus and spot on clean vocals ticking all the right boxes. We are then taken Away with the much heavier next track, where some ear-piercing crystal-clear high notes will almost certainly paint a big grin on your face.
The faster paced alternative offering Freaks is a spicy fusion of dreamy vocals interlaced with shrift punchy riffs and modern electronic sounds, creating that bang up-to-date metal sound. Following closely behind is the burn your house down, hard on the hammer screamer Fire which will surely ignite your interest and hold your attention to my personal favourite track.
Darker and atmospheric song Tears is slower and deeper on the bass, whilst next up the quick-fire tune What If is super sweet on the ears with its sassy sing-along chorus. These ying and yang compositions show the full gravity of MISSCORE’s skillset and scope.
I have Nothing 2 Say now other than we have sadly reached the end of our short musical journey with MISSCORE as they close out with a retro rocking riff that creates the perfect blend between the old and the new.
MISSCORE certainly have all the artistry necessary to make a big impact in the modern metal world, and I am sure there are many more great things to come from them in the future. Hypocrisy is a very fluid album where the sound constantly meta morphs and adapts throughout, making it a very worthwhile listen for all fans of the modern and alternative metal genres. If you like me are a fan of evolutionary change and the new sound of rock, then check out Hypocrisy when it drops and add MISSCORE to your playlist.
