Welcome back to the metalepidemic.com review hot seat. As always, I am Snidely Whiplash giving you the reviews to help you navigate the deep oceans of metal that surround you! I hope you enjoy the review and the music we here at Metal Epidemic post up for you to hear!

Today’s album is the third release by UK band Midnite City. I have yet to hear the first two releases under their previous record label, but GOD DAMN am I going to go find them! This is a band right up Snidely’s alley. Call it hair metal, call it hard rock, call it glam, call it whatever you like. This is good, fun music. It has a dirt that comes from the lyrics and attitude as much as it comes from the music.

The rhythm section of bassist Josh “Tabbie” Williams and drummer Pete Newdeck holds tight and true from the basher Crawling In The Dirt to the closer Falling To Pieces. The guitars of Miles Meakin pepper this thing with that hard rock feel that makes every song rip and rock with a killer groove. Keyboardist Shawn Charvette puts the icing on the cake with lines that add a nice texture to the mix. The songs are littered with nice harmonies and high lines added to the smooth vocals of Rob Wylde. It’s easy to see why this band has sold out clubs in the UK and Japan.

Like I said before, this is the type of band that Old Snidely would drive down a dirt road at high speed while singing along at the top of his off-key lungs. This is a fun band that I think everyone should check out. I hate to put them in the category of Glam or Hair band. I hate to pigeon hole any band to 80s style rock that covered MTV back in the day, but this is the band you’d have seen then and should still see today if rock ‘n roll had a bigger foothold on the industry. It has heart and energy. This is what Snidely would listen to. In fact, I’m off to check out their first two releases!
